The position of submissions reader for fiction, nonfiction, poetry, drama, art, or photography is fairly low-commitment, great resume-building experience that allows your voice to be heard in the campus literary and art community. We’d love to have you on board!
- Read submissions for one genre over winter break (e.g. fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, drama, art, or photography)
- Meet with genre group post winter-break to vote on which submissions should appear in the magazine
- Attend all-staff meetings, events, etc.
Each year, we also hire new assistant genre-editors for fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, drama, art, and photography, as well as an assistant head editor. Assistant editor positions are a two year commitment and require at least one year of experience as a submissions reader. Assistant editors move up to serve as head editor for their particular section the following year.
Applications are due, printed out, to the Writing Department office (LOH 326) by Tuesday, October 1st.
